So, this night means absolutely nothing anymore. Rachael is at work, I'm watching the babies, which I currently have sleeping, and have nothing better to do but post my favorite albums of the year. Like any of you care, but it gives me something to do.
Only doing my top five, and there are hardly any surprises here:
5. Deerhunter, Microcastle
4. Fleet Foxes, S/T
3. M83, Saturday=Youth
2. Lil Wayne, The Carter III
1. TV on the Radio, Dear Science
TV on the Radio, Crying

You, Appearing
I'm getting my new camera tomorrow, so you better believe it will be photo time. I ordered the Canon Power shot SD1100IS and it is supposed to arrive on Monday. I grew tired of waiting 10 seconds in between each photo.
Riley hit 11 lbs today. I just weighed her on our own personal scale. Jack is closing in on 13 lbs and is as chubby as a Springer baby, or whatever talk show host has fat babies. I can't remember. Thunder thighs though, all the way.
And I know some of you are anxiously awaiting my top ten albums for the year list (Jason), and I promise I will get it up here soon so you can have a good laugh.
In the meantime, here are two from an album sure to be on the list.
You, Appearing (M83)
And from the same album, Saturday=Youth, and a great video...
Kim and Jessie (M83) (I may have posted the song before, but not the video)

Dr. Appointments
Rachael took the kids to some Dr. Appointments today. Jack and Riley both went to their four month Pediatrician visit. Riley also went to her GI doctor. Riley is now either 10 lbs, or 10 lbs 4 oz, depending on which scale you believe. The good news is that she has gained close to a pound in two weeks and the GI doctor told Rachael that Riley is growing at a good rate. Jack weighed in at somewhere in the high 11 lb mark. I think he was close to 12 lbs. Bottom line, both the kids are doing fine. Maybe some time soon they will get on the growth charts for their age.
I keep going back to Built to Spill lately. Maybe because they put out so many great albums.

Once in a Lifetime
Jack took a full fledged bath today. Now that he doesn't have his cast he can get completely submerged. He was super happy to float around in the water. You could tell he was having a great time. Here are some photos.
Side note, I will post some videos of the Talking Heads even though David Byrne was recently complaining about our great city. Well, I guess it wasn't that bad what he said...you can find it here.

Wolf Like Me
So Jack and Riley are starting to enjoy their toys a lot more. There is one toy in particular that they both like. It is a toy that makes noise when you press buttons. They both love to hit the buttons extra hard. Kind of cool that they are starting to interact more with their environment. Jack seems to be making the early advances in the speech department. He makes noises that are a little more complex than Riley. Riley is still grunting her way through life.

Jack's New Device
Jack got his cast off today. Now he wears this thing as depicted in the photograph. He has to wear this full-time for three months. After three months he only wears it at night. I think it might be a long three months for the little guy. So far though, like most things in his life thus far, he has taken it in stride.
Another Big Day for Jack Tomorrow
Jack gets his cast off tomorrow. No other news. I'm staying up with the kids tonight, watching 48 hours mystery episodes on itunes, and giving Rachael a well deserved break.
Now the real reason for this post, Zappa...can you believe he has been dead for 15 years now? He is high on the list of artists/bands I would see with access to a time machine. So many records to play for young Jack and Riley.
Watermelon in Easter Hay, Frank Zappa

Date with IKEA
Jack went to the ENT today, and good news, it seems that his hearing problem is all based on fluid in the ears. The ENT will look at his ears in about 6 weeks to see how they are doing if any of the fluid is draining on its own. If it isn't draining on its own, I imagine they will put tubes in his ears to drain the fluid.
In other Jack news, he gets his cast off on Wednesday. Pretty cool, though it will be a pain to put him in his brace constantly.
