Bad Start

So this morning, around 6:00, I picked up Riley to give her a bottle. I lied her down on my lap, on top of the boppy, and she started eating. After about 5 minutes it started to smell a little poopy. I reached down to scoop her up and readjust her on the boppy. I will change her when I'm done, I thought to myself. To my surprise, when I reached down to readjust her I got a handful of baby poop on my hand. I lifted her up and it was all over the boppy, my boxers, and right leg. I threw the boppy into the corner, took off my soiled boxers, and we headed off to where I normally changed her. Of course all my supplies aren't there, and I walked all around the house, naked, looking for the wipes and diapers with a pooh covered wriggly baby. Finally the matter was resolved, and all was eventually well, but it has been a real shitty morning.

Ouch... shitty indeed. One time when I was Mr. mom'in it, Gibson figured out how to remove his diaper. I had just put him down for his nap and he was making noise so I went in to check on him. He had taken off his poop-filled diaper and thrown it and the poop all over his room. I can laugh about it now but at the time it was a shitty situation.

Poop = Parent. I have shit all over me right now. The weird thing is how normal shit becomes. Oh shit on my hand, la la la. Oh shit on my shirt, dum de dum. Oh shit on the onesie, change that later. Shit shit shit. You look around at other parents - shit all over them too. Parenting is poop. Nobody tells you this.

Once, thank goodness, on my mom's watch Dean dug into his diaper and he had it all over his face and crib and apparentlly got really mad when my mom cleaned him up, he wanted to keep eating it! Aurelia has also done this and I got to be the janitor for her disaster that she spent all night making! I really just wanted to throw away the bed and the baby! Jane got me really good at a doctors appointment: They didn't have a changing table and she was only a few weeks old so I used my lap, but when I was mid-change she wasn't done yet and got it all over my lap, it was bright yellow and I had not enough wipes or hands, really embarrassing...hopefully those days are done for me.
