Jack and Riley have a new borrowed vehicle, a grandma and grandpa Cornett's Kia Sedona. They are very pleased to ride in such comfort. We are also quite pleased.

The Passenger

So a few things, I guess, first, Rachael and I are CONSIDERING joining the mini-van nation. I remember when I lived in Hilton Head and everybody that found out I was from Ohio laughed and asked if I owned a mini-van. Well pretty soon I might assholes! We are currently looking at the Toyota Sienna, possibly from 2002 or 2003. With a big dog, two babies, a huge stroller and a pack n' play, it becomes difficult to travel with the new family line up. We will see if we go through with it, but it is something we are considering.

In music news, I can't believe that I never came across Iggy Pop's album, The Idiot. Considering I think Bowie is one of the greatest to walk the earth, you would think I would be privy to all his dealings, especially from the Berlin era. Anyways I had no idea that China Girl originally appeared on The Idiot in 1977. I also learned that Bowie released it later and made it a hit in order to get Iggy some money from half the song writing royalties. Thank you Wikkipedia, I will continue to believe everything I read on your site. I don't care what the critics say.

So yeah, I have been listening to The Idiot a lot today.

In non-music news, the Browns suck, need to fire Romeo and hire Cowher. What a disgrace. Unbelievably believable...every time with these guys.

Finally, Baby news, Jack and Riley had a good day, slept a lot of the day, and hung out with Grandma Kraft. I swear they both have become more focused on the world lately. They are becoming more human every day. And they are both an easy smile lately. Jack likes it when I turn into the PCP-Gorilla and beat my chest unmercifully. It gets him every time.

And a Non-Idiot Cut, but rad anyways...Iggy, The Passenger

Finally, I have to add that this one is a great song. The band is Land of Talk, the song is Some are Lakes. I hear this song a lot on what used to be Left of Center.

Sleeping One Off...

Here are a few photos of Jack from today. I like the one where he is sleeping in our bed. It's late now, and for some reason or another, mind wondering, the photo of Jack sleeping made me think of recreating famous album covers with the babies. I think that would be fun. I'm up for suggestions. You submit an album cover and I will recreate it. I was also thinking how I'm going to dress Jack up like David Bowie (Alladin Sane style) for Halloween one of these days. Just a thought.

Norton Furniture Ads

The best part of being up late in Cleveland is sharing my time with Mark Norton from the the Norton Furniture ads. Got to love this guy.

Now, if you have watched the commercials above, or if you are at least familiar with them already, you might enjoy this next one. It is is Mark hanging out at Edgewater Park doing some live commercials.

Hearing Test and Photos

Too Much Flash?

The kids and I are hanging today. I took the day off to take Jack to his audiologist appointment at the Cleveland Clinic. The results were pretty good. Although Jack has some hearing loss, it is in the mild range (can't hear whispers, but hears normal conversation level and up) and the part of the ear where the loss is associated with is an area that is typically correctable (95%). Next stop for Jack is a ENT Doctor. We are still hopeful that it is fluid in the ear. Overall Rachael and I are very happy with how today went for Jack.

Anyway, Jack, Riley and I are just jamming to The Carter III, Lil Wayne style. I really love that album for some odd reason.

Mr. Mom

Here are some photos from yesterday and today. Had the day off today and took care of the kids. They were pretty good today with minimum crying. We hung out, just Mr. Mom and the kids.

Oceans (My Most Random Post Ever!)

Rachael and I were just talking about when we will take Jack and Riley to the Ocean. So, naturally, I started thinking of all the great songs about the ocean. Here are just a few that I thought of. All great songs.

Two Sleeping Babies

Saturday Night

Another night, another struggle to keep a binky in the mouth of our children. Both of them are obsessed with their binky, and if they don't have it in their mouth, or if it falls out of their mouth for a second, they get super pissed. It can be really annoying at times, especially since you never have a free hand. For example, right now I have Riley leaned up against my chest and have the binky wedged between us. It is the only way to have a free hand. Patience is so important in this business. I think I will be able to get some photos up here tomorrow. Our camera was out of batteries, but we fixed the problem.

And here is the Clash, Magnificent Seven (sometimes I can't remember what I have posted on here already, not that it matters) As a side note, everybody talks about how great London Calling is as an album, and of course it is great and all, but Sandinista is so overlooked. My personal favorite Clash album. Just saying...

Another great track off of Sandinista.
Police on My Back (saw Yo La Tengo do a great version of this once...)

Can't forget Hitsville U.K.

And finally, Charlie Don't Surf, from, you guessed it, Sandinista

Quick Update

It has been hard to update this blog lately, and for that I apologize. Both the babies are doing well and we will certainly take some photos this weekend for an update. Jack got a new cast today. Still on track for a surgery sometime soon. I think he will get the surgery with a local anesthetic. Jack went to the pediatrician today and weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz. Not sure how much of that is Jack and how much can be attributed to the cast. Jack continues to be our mellow man, and Riley is a little (a lot) fussy at times.

Wish there was more news, but no news is good news.

Election Day

The family is looking forward to watching the results roll in tonight. Should be interesting.

Jack and Riley are doing well. Jack now feeds from the same bottle system as Riley and is doing a great job with his feeding. They are both sleeping really well through the night, only waking when it is time to eat.

I had the joy of spending 250 dollars on formula this morning (from Amazon, thanks for the tip Margaret) for what should last 24 days. Awesome. I figure the formula cost should be about 300-350 dollars a month, plus whatever it will cost for diapers. Oh well, nobody ever said it would be cheap.

Little Riley Lynn

Don't think we forgot about our little girl. Here are some photos of her from today. Give me a break, what else do you think I have to do with all my time but update this blog, take photos of my kids, download music, and watch t.v.
